There is this guy that everyone knows is interested in me. I've been completely blind to this until last night when he told me himself. However, I'm not interested in him at all. First of all, i have a boyfriend. Second of all, hes not the type of guy i would normally date even if i was single. I normally date preppy, abercrombie type of guys. I've never dated the punky/skater boy type of guy. Hes still a nice person, but how do i let him down without hurting him?

Just refuse him nicely. Tell him that you were flattered and it felt good when he said that he is interested in you but you already have a boyfriend and like him very much and simply that the two of you (you and the the guy interested in you) are different individuals with different views, opinions and liking and that you believe that the two of you are incompatible. So it is wise that both of you move on in life's different paths. Tell him that he is more than welcome to be just a friend and not boyfriend. Hopefully he will get the message without feeling bad or offended about it.

Tell him straight out, say something like " I am flattered that you like me, but I am involved with someone right now and besides for some reason although you are really nice I can only visualize you as a friend"

JUST BE REAL WITH HIM!!! Don't lie to him because that would only make it worse. Just tell him you only see him as a friend and that you have a boyfriend and he will have no choice but to understand, but let him down easily and not in front of a whole lot of people.

you have it easy!! you already have a boyfriend..all you have to do is tell him how flattered you are, but that you're already in a relationship...that way you're not saying that you'd never date him...but your reason is kind of shallow....how a guy dresses shouldn't matter at all...what should matter is the guy himself..but just tell him you're taken.

Tell him straight for gods sake, or you will hurt him more.
