If the band on it begins with an AU, then go to http://www.pigeon.org and check the band list there. It will give you an address for the club secretary (and possibly a phone number as well)

If the band begins with I.F., then go to http://www.ifpigeon.com/ and also look for their band listings

If you're in Canada or the northern half of the U.S. and you find a bird whose band begins with CU, then go to http://www.canadianracingpigeonunion.com

and check for their band list.

If you're in Europe, I'd have to know what the band reads to get you to the right country association.

if you can catch it take it along to your nearest pigeon club or fancier on a friday between 5 - 8 oclock
