While the books were written thousands of years latter, the story was passed down orally from the original people that where there. Some places it got messed up and modified, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. When we look at figures like Noah and Abraham, they knew the stories and held on to the faith that had been passed to them, where as others didn't. They added there own stories and eventually it all got written down.
I am sure you know stories of your own family that go back generations but have never been written down. You can see the variation in the story that each branch of your family tells.
Where Revelation comes in (and this is where it is often gotten wrong) is that it confirms the story and brings it to a higher plain of understanding. It is not like the Hebrews didn't know the Genesis account and the book fell out of the sky one day and hit Moses on the head. Rather God work with Moses to confirm the story and the Lord of History revealed what was clouded and lost.

Man created God.
God is no different than the Easter Bunny or the Tooth Fairy. They're all man-made.
People could not explain the universe or why we existed, so they invented "God". Man wrote the bible at a time when they did not know a great deal. That is why the Bible says that the Earth is the center of the universe, when it clearly is not. But at the time the bible was written, that is what they believed. There are many other instances like that in the bible.
The Greeks had many Gods. Where are they now? They're in books about mythology.
The single God that is more popular today will take the same route. As we come to understand the universe and ourselves, the modern day God will be marginalized into the same category as Zeus and Poseiden, et. el.

I believe that as homosapien became a more social human being, there was a need to regularise or organise the society for its better function. hence stories, rules and superstition was used to create this faith in God which drives all our decision of Good and Bad. This need to organise society created caste system. I believe in God, Miracles. I also believe that God is man's best invention ever. The discussion can go forever. As we all say about Poison. For each one his own. I say the same for Faith in God.

You can not confuse the Bible with other books purported to be holy.
When God created man, he was pre-programed. Adam could walk ,talk, name all the animals, and get married on the first day.
How do you know the first man had no knowledge-who told you?
You do not know-you only speculate. Look what speculation has done to our history.

Who said that Adam and Eve could not speak or write?
God had Adam name all the animals (within a couple days of being created).
After Cain killed Able, he went and built a city, that takes knowledge.
