Depending on your faith, and which version of the Bible you refer to. But yes, there is an actual mention in the Bible that commiting suicide is a sin against God, and the punishment for that is eternal damnation (this means "hell")

The only people who go to hell are those who reject Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior - many will tell you that to commit murder of any kind, even self-inflicted is a straight ticket to hell, but all sin is forgiveable, but then they say how can you get forgiven if you've killed yourself. Well, there's is a verse in the Bible that says if you have given your soul to Jesus then it is in the Father's hand forever and nothing or no one can snatch it out. However, suicide is usually the result of a mental illness and then the removal of what seems to be any hope in a given situation. But it is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. And the scriptures do say that God will carry us through every problem and give us a way out if we but ask - but he never gave us an example of it being by killing ourself. So, if you're question has deeper meaning that just casual curiosity, seek out the help you need in two areas of your life, your spiritual well- being and then your mental well-being and in a few short weeks to months, which can seem like a long ways down the road, but really isn't in the grand scheme of life, you will be glad you ask the question and someone took the time to give you an honest, heartfelt answer. I've considered suicide, just never went through, kept thinking there must surely be something more I could do - and sure enough with a little prayer and encouragement from a counselor, I found some anwers and boy am I glad I did - I've had 26 years since the first thought, 10 more years since the second thought, and 5 since the third thought (these were serious thoughts and plans made) - in that time frame I've had a son, met a wonderful husband, came to know the Lord, and have learned to serve him faithfully in all that I do. I still had a lot of life to live - what if I had cut it short?

No, it is not. There are references to suicide in the Bible. IE: Ecclesiastes 7:17 - why die before your time? There are examples of suicide in the Bible...Samson for one, Judas for another. The question really is, why does a person go to hell? For not believing that Jesus is the Son of God and the Saviour of sinners. People who have Jesus as their Saviour sometimes do commit suicide as the result of chemical imbalances, depression, etc. The Bible doesn't say one way or the other. People must know Jesus personally, to go to heaven.

No, it is a forgivabe sin but there is no way to be forgiven for it unless you pray which you can not do if you are dead. And for all you people who say it is written in the bible tell me where it is written. IT IS NOT WRITTEN IN THE BIBLE THAT YOU WILL GO TO HELL IF YOU COMMIT SUICIDE.

The answer is NO in any 'version'.
Some people say that it is murdering yourself and hence a violation of "You shall not commit murder". However, Christianity is based around grace and freedom from the bondage of sin and that even applies to murderers.
By the way,
1) There are no differences between the different versions except that they are different TRANSLATIONS.
2) The seven deadly sins are not in the bible. They were made up. There are no unforgivable sins (except blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, but who knows what that means?). God's grace is sufficient to cover all if we are willing to accept this.
3) Yes, it does send the family to 'hell'.

Jesus said of Judas who committed suicide, "it would have been better had this one not been born." King Saul committed suicide after he had all contact with God severed also, he went to the witch of Endor because he no longer knew God. God knows if someone has lost the ability of discern, or if they have gone over the edge in this matter, but in all cases its more does one know the savior when they die, then how they die.

No it is not. There are many scriptures that give reason for not committing suicide, but there are none that say you will go to hell because of suicide.

This is a difficult question the only unforgivable sin is the blasphemy of the holy spirit...I think that it is commonly believed that suicide is sin and as you die it would be too late to ask forgiveness thus you die in your sin....I understand this theory but do not accept it as an absolute...Christ died for all sin and as a Christian we are not under the penalty of law...therefore I think it is not an absolute that all who commit suicide aregoing to hell..I will leave this to God to Judge who is saved and who is not.

Well, not really. But it says in the Bible that we are the temple of the Holy Spirit and that the Spirit of God dwells in us. If we destroy God's temple, wow, tahat's a great sin. He created you for His pleasure-for you to serve Him. If you commit suicide, God would be angry with you..
