If I'm not mistaken, on cars that new the chimes are controlled via one of the computer modules in the car. Therefore, it's impossible to disable the chime.

Oh, you can find the chime, but it's disabling it that's the difficulty. Unless it's chiming for no reason, you shouldn't mess with it. If it is chiming for no apparent reason (i.e. you have your seatbelt fastened correctly), take it to a dealer, and they will replace the clip assembly.

It's in the owners manual on how to get rid of the chime.. you will have to scan the book as I don't remember where it is, but involves a lot of seat belt buckling and unbuckling.

If not the dealer will do it for a fee

The wire that someone talks about is no longer there as it's all together as part of an airbag system (yep the seat belts even explode in a accident now.. it tightens up the seat belt in an accident) and is part of a wire harness that will cause the airbag light to flash possibly.

Yes, ram it into a bridge abuttment at about 70mph. If you're not wearing your seatbelt, you'll never be bothered by that annoying chime again!

Front Airbags only work in head on collisions, which account for less than 7% of all crashes.

There should be a small plug hanging down from the seat on the driver side. Don't confuse it with the power seat harness, though.
Unplug it. If the seat belt light still stays on cut the wires and twist them together. That will bypass the switch. Tape the wires up with electrical tape.

Hi,
you have two options.
1 do as carguy said and pull the sensor plug.
2 set off the chimer and crawl under the dash to find a black rectangle about 2 x 1. It will be vibrating as it emits the sounds. Just yank it out and your done.

Some can and will feel guilty for ever. they could even face charges of vehicular man slaughter in the process.
Use your seatbelt you selfish jerk.
