Yes. There are lots of people who are very religious, but that does not make them religiously right. Many people who worship false gods are very religious, but they do not have a relationship with the God of the Bible.
On this web site, we see several who "religiously preach" evolution, but it is obvious they don't know or acknowledge God.
We need to not only be religious, but we need to be religiously right. God desires for men to worship in both "spirit and truth"! (John 4:24)

These people are totally wrong. You don't have to bind yourself to any deity to be religious, but then why would you want to consider yourself religious? Most religious people are hypocrites who pay lip service to their church and god.

It is not just saying that you accept your god, it is how you act.

If you act in the wrong manner, according to these people, you will be forgiven. So there is no point in acting correctly, just sat that Christ is you personal friend and youre ok.

The whole idea of religion was to provide a code to maintain order in society and dictated how people should behave. The idea of worshipping god just ensured that people complied with the rules

Yes. You can go your chosen house of worship every holy day, say your prayers, keep every single one of your church's precepts, rules and ordinances.

BUT, if you do not believe in the Being that is so worshipped it will avail you nothing.

Religion is merely how one says to others, this is how I feel about the Deity. It may or may not be the truth.

If you have no relationship with, no faith IN the Lord God (by whatever name you call Him), then your religion, your religious practices, matter not a whit! You are merely being hypocritical.

Religious:
Devoted to following a set pattern of dogma or perscriptions for honoring, worshipping a higher being or creature or law.
Example:
You could worship Nature.
You could belong to a cult that worships Elvis.
Yes, I think that being religious need not include being spiritual.

By definition no. Religion comes from the latin "to bind" so it means those practices which bind you to God. So if don't have a relationship, you are not bound, thus you are not religious.
