That is easily explained. Adam and Eve had all the genetic traits in humans today. As people migrated and settled in areas, certain genetic traits became dominant from the inbreeding of cultures.
Today's world is bringing us closer to what Adam and Eve probably looked like. Now that the world is getting smaller and people are having interracial relationships, genetic traits are not so concentrated anymore.
You really see this in military communities because they are world travellers and start relationships with other cultures, then their children do the same thing, etc.
What we see today among animals and people are just the branches of the originals. That is called micro evolution. This is the fact that species produce different breeds of a species.
There are over 250 different breeds of dogs. No Christian would argue the fact that they probably share a common ancestor along with the wolf and the fox. But it was a dog-like animal.
You are never going to get a dog to breed with a cat. That is called macro evolution which is what Christians don't agree with and that there is no evidence for.
Science has proved time and time again that micro evolution is the only proven, testable, reasonable scientific fact. Macro evolution only exists in the imagination.

Variation is a result of natural selection, one of the aspects of evolution. Some characteristics get selected more often because they give the organism a survival advantage.
For example, most people in Africa have darker skin. This is because the dark pigments in the skin help absorb harmful radiation from the sun, which is a big survival advantage in such a hot and sunny climate.
When it comes to animals like dogs, which have many different breeds, this is because of artificial selection. Humans have selectively bred dogs for different characteristics (size, fur colour, shape etc.). By breeding dogs with the characteristics that we've wanted in them, we have produced many different breeds. All domestic dogs belong to the same species and can all breed with each other (although it's hard to breed a big dog with a little dog because of the size difference).

Well I think that most people would say that evolution DOES exist to some extent, whether or not they are religious. Personally I think that thousands of years of being under the sun has caused the Aboringines to become black, and that this was passed on to their children. Variations in skin, eyes and hair are most probably cuased by the climate that these people have been living in. Obviously you wouldn't have a white person as a native to Africa. Things like skin colour evolved for a purpose - tanning is meant to protect you from getting skin cancer and from burning.

The creator was a mad scientist. Look at all the crazy life forms in the bottom of the sea. Particularly interesting is how apes resemble humans. The creator had a sense of humor to be sure.

Nice scientific answer there Maribel ... that is the sort of answer that gives religion a bad name IMHO.
Arguing (for once) for the creationists I would say localised mutation to environment.
For the avoidance of doubt I do not, however, believe in creationism for lots of other reasons.
Peace out
