If you indeed have PTSD you need to get professional counseling. Its not going to go away with medication. Your doctor is prescribing wellbutrin to deal with the depression that the PTSD is causing you. Theres no medication for PTSD, you have to go through therapy, and I strongly suggest that you do, for your own sake and your children. Your problem will only get worse without proper help. If something traumatic happened to you, you need to get professional help to help you deal with it. good luck.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, if this is indeed what you have, should be diagnosed by a Professional, and treated with both medications and counselling. I am not sure if Wellbutrin is the best treatment for this. Medications such as Lorazepam, Klonapin, etc. among the anxiolytic classes tend to be better than the anti-depressants, unless your particular brand of PTSD also includes depression, which in this case, an anti-depressant is added. Counselling is essential as PTSD becomes a trained way of learning how to react to a situation. Counselling will train you how to avoid the thoughts that come when triggered. Make sure when you pick your counsellor that they have specific experience in dealing with trauma and abuse; not all counsellors know what to do with PTSD.

Wellbutrin is a really good med to have for this. It has just about the lowest side effects.
BUT it doesn't work for everyone, and that can only be shown after taking it for a few weeks.
Make sure you don't miss a dose.
You shouldn't have to take anything else, unless you're having mood swings, manic episodes, or it's making you hyper.
Counseling is best done face to face.
Beware of the on line "experts" that offer their services.
They will feed you a couple of typical responses, and then suggest a phone consultation that rips you off.
Look for a support group in your area. (I would suggest specifics, but I don't know the origin of your PTSD)
I know you have no time, but your situation will never get fixed unless you put a little time into it.
It will be better for your children that way, because you'll be a better person.
E-mail if you have any other questions.

With PTSD, you can't rely purely on meds to do your healing work, cos they won't. What they do is make it easier for you WHILE you do your healing work. Take your health seriously! If you had cancer, would you "not have time" to go for chemotherapy??
I don't know the details but I do know that sertraline-based anti-depressants (SSRIs) like Zoloft, Serlift, get good reviews from survivors of child abuse (who have PTSD).
