Get shots and bring antibacterial pills (Bactryl in France) because food poisoning is quite likely given dubious hygiene and extreme heat / humidity.
Forget about wearing shorts or casual wear. This is _NOT_ a country for any of that nonsense, and if you're a church going person, you may have to seek private worship, there's no churches, only mosques. Ain't no chance for girl watching because they wear black chadoors starting at twelve or so, including nose, all you see is eyes (and beautiful they are, too), but for pete's sake don't stare. Ever.
However the people are the friendliest and shyest ever, generous with the little they have. You'll find an attitude shif comapered to the west that will warm you heart, and make you feel a bit guilty about all the whining we do (well...I DO) about our daily problems so called.

I know someone who lived in Bangladesh for about 30 years. There are about 140million people in this very small country. There is a book called "On Duty in Bangladesh", it is a Foreigners perspective on a major war there.

Good luck with that! In June to October, most of the country is flooded. Better to wait until after monsoon season!
