When you test it you should be able to put the balls of your feet on the ground, but not flat on the ground. It should feel comfortable. A decent bike place will help you pick the right bike and adjust it to your height; I don't know if there's a Cyclepath in yr area but they have been great to me.

You'll know pretty soon if it needs adjustments - you will feel cramped or stretched while riding, and that's when you get out the old wrench and start tinkering.

I'm 6'1" and I ride a 19", though I should probably be using a 21-inch. I wouldn't go any higher than 21. And don't get your bike from a retail store; go to an actual bike shop. The parts wear out sooner on store-bought bikes.

You should go with at least a 26" bike if not a 27".
