It is not ileagal to drive bare foot in California, or any other state I know of. How this myth continues is amazing. You can drive with no feet (with proper controls) If it were ileagal what would be proper foot attire, thongs, house slippers, heavy socks, combat boots, six inch spike heels etc. See the problem

actually it isnt illegal in new york, I believe. It is not that it is illegal, the law thinks it is unsafe. Almost all 50 states will allow barefoot driving, but you may end up getting lectured. I think California is the only state it is actually considered illegal

I think it is illegal to drive with any part of a bear not just the foot

i think its illegal to drive barefoot anywhere, anytime. but i do it anyway.
