If a lesion shows on a brain scan and the brain surgeon thinks he can repair the lesion causing psychological problems - then he will do surgery accordingly.Similarly, problems diagnosed by a psychiatrist may be refered to a brain surgeon - who may do surgery if a lesion shows up on a brain scan. The same applies to lesions caused by disease or accidents. Any lesion in the brain may cause psychiatric problems or behavioural problems and can be corrected with surgery. Other psychiatric problems are treated with drugs and or counselling.
