these birds have lived here for years but they go away for a short time and come back with chicks why dont they give birth in my trees

They could be house sparrows that have nested in a neighbourhood property.
If you have a bird table & feed them regulally, mum & dad are showing the babies where the nearest food source is.
Be proud some lil birds will make it because you care.
Put some food out for them right now, unless it's night time where you are.

sparrows usually dont build nest in trees, usually eaves of buildings and holes in walls for they feel it is safer than trees where snakes and cats cannot get to them, and perhaps the birds that come back , may not be the same birds. adult sparrows usually sleep on trees but after mating the look else where for nesting,

You probably don't have a suitable area for them to nest in. If they are house sparrows they prefer to build their nest in the roocves of buildings, and many modern houses just do not have areas they can get in.

I have little doubts about the character of the sparrows living in your area. They may be a "Playsparrows".

many birds return to the same nest year after year.....if they have a great nest sight, protected and safe....why would they want to change?
