The Bible frequently makes references to spirits and people who can contact them, so the Bible would seem to indicate that ghosts and magic are real. However, the Bible also commands Jews and Christians to not get involved with these things.

This is odd, as more Christians consult mediums and psychics than any other religious group.

Magic as far as I am aware is an illusion of the eye. It takes years to master so the public can't see how it is done, however there is always an explanation at the end to show how it was done etc.

You are now saying "Gods magic"......... are you implying that what he does isn't real, we only think it is because we have been brainwashed into believing it?

I don't believe in God, I don't necessarily believe in ghosts but I do believe in magic because I have witnessed it for myself. Until God shows himself or a ghost taps me on the shoulder I will stay a non-believer of both.

As far as writing about ghosts in the bible, if you were a true believer and had read it from cover to cover, surely you would know this answer for yourself??

Ghost and Magic are real and are mentioned plenty of times in the Bible.

"Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have."
Luke 24:38-40

"But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."
Revelation 21:7-9

Theirs plenty of scriptures in the Bible. Magic is evil and Ghosts do exist in the unseen world around us. Reading will help. =)

It is not in the Bible. It is a decree issued by the early Catholic church. They felt only God could have magic and anything else was a trick of the Devil. I guess they did not think God was powerful enough to endow humans with these powers or to condemn the dead to walk the earth.

Yes, all chiristians are catholics at heart. Same book, same teachings, some more extreme than others.

Actually it says the exact opposite. Saul goes to the Witch at Endor who brings up the spirit of the dead prophet Samuel. Also, all through the law, (The 1st 5 books) it says all kinds of laws forbidding divination (telling the future), magic, spells, charms, and calling up the dead. It also says that your supposed to stone to death whoever practises these things.
ex. Thou shall not suffer a witch to live which was used as the main reason for executing people during the witch trials.

In the old testament king Saul went to the witch of Endor and had the Prophet Samuel's spirit brought to life, and talked to the Prophet Samuel. But of course king Saul didn't like what the Prophet Samuel had to tell him.
