There are a few key things to help learn about the Bible.
One is to pick a version that speaks clearly to you. I like the Amplified Bible where it will give multiple meanings for certain words. For example, in Genesis 1:1 it says "In the beginning God (prepared, formed, fashioned, and) created the heavens and the earth", as the whole thing is written this way, it helps to determine what meanings could be there. I also have one that has four different versions all together, so that each page can be compared to different translations of the same verses.
I would also recomend going to a study group, church, or do some reasearch to find out what seems to make sense to you. There are many different study guides available that also go into the history of the writing, the language, and the person what wrote each book.
It also doesn't hurt to pray and meditate on what you've just read to help find the deeper meaning, lesson, etc.

Understanding the Bible isn't an easy task. There's a lot to it, and it's very easy to get lost when looking for meanings in it. There are also lots of different versions of the Bible, each of them with slightly different wordings.
I would suggest reading an annotated Bible, which offers insights into the text as you read through it. This can help you pick out what the text is saying, and then you can decide on what it means to you.

I would get a life application study Bible or a student study bible, The Message is a paraphrased version that is easier to understand. Find a mentor at a Church near you to help you. Attend Bible studies, pray for discernment when reading the Bible...and so on.

To your simple question is a simple answer - set aside everything you think you know, have heard, and want to see in the bible then just start reading it as it is and accept exactly what it says to you. Do this with the positive commitment that you will only accept constantly consistent truth proved to be correct and you will find just that.
Before you start, ask yourself, "What is my motive to learn about what is in the Bible and what will I do with it afterr it is learned". Is it for personal gain? Is it to know the truth about the book itself? Is it to formulate a way of life? Or is it to make the truth in the Bible if found your life and not just a way of life?
Do not get a study guide, do not seek advice from others, and do not follow the plan of others. Just start on page one and read it cover to cover and when you finish do it again, and again with an open mind and it will be opened to you. Have you not at your current age learned that repetition is the only way to learn effectively the subjects you do seek to learn in school and the facts you seek to learn in life itself.

Search beyond the bible....Search the history of the bible and who wrote it..and why they wrote it and study other religions. Also read the book The Messianic Legacy, then research everything in that book and make your decision then.

i suggest buying the "New Living Transalation", going to Bible studies, and doing research online is good too. Of course praying and asking God for wisdom and guidance is the first.
