Reason behind successful econoic powers of the world.
Was this due to manpower that they posessed or the money / wealth they had of due to some other reason.

The country runs on people.
Corp...Mutli Nat Corps may be protected as people under the 15 amendment....but it is ultimatley run by people.
People choose their governments. The good way or the bad.
Money is accumlated by people, but these people can be regulated, taxed, legislated, sued, arrested, and brought down by the people.
People always had the power to vote their leaders out, or armed in revolt. Money can only influece the weak minded.

Economic Power = Money
Money makes the world go round..period. Someone with tons of money can afford manpower of various kinds and numbers. It takes $$$$ to get manpower to pay those men. Catch my drift?

For me, people makes a country run to be in progress and to be succesful. Without our countrymen, who were always hardworking and dedicated to their work ,I think the economy of our country will be down.
