No, The True and living God is a plural being. A Triune God. The Father, The Son, The Holy Spirit. This is the God of the Bible, and the God that born again Christians worship.

This is not the same God that is worshipped in Islam or Judaism, as both deny the deity of the Son, Jesus Christ.

You are referring to "gods" which is plural. That means each god is finite in occupying space and has a form. A name was given by people to that form. In reality, they are not worshipping the form, but the supernatural and spiritual aspects and powers that it represents. So each of these gods represents the same super natural which is the God. They just needed a form to worship because it 's easier to think of physical things than spiritiual and abstract things. So a god represents to them their faith in the Almighty.

Therefore faiths underlying all religions are the same, that is the faith in the Almighty. But religions are different because the traditions and methods of worship attached to them, are different. This state of human affairs is unavoidable because evolution of people in different parts of the world under different environments also brought in different traditions.

I have to say I liked what Melissa said ( as I know this is the someone you are refering to here).
I took a full two semester course in WORLD RELIGIONS, I studied Hinduisim, Budhisim, Janism, Taoism, Shintao, Christianity, Jewdaisim, etc. etc. etc. YES, each one has their one or many gods they follow and believe in. However, in turn if you read deeper into their belief systems you will find that no matter what else even they believe that there is a Greater Power even above their own gods/goddesses. Do they pray to that greater power? No they pray to the lessor beings who in turn take their prayers to that greater power on their behalf.
Do each of these religions follow similar paths? Yes in many way's they do. For in each one they share the similar belief that ALL MEN,WOMEN and BEASTS are equal in the eyes of their diety and that no one should be judged by their belief system.
Hinduisim was the FIRST recognized and ACCEPTED World Religion recorded by man; even though before the Roman time there were the Druids, the Shaman's and all those other alleged "PAGANS" as the Christian's came to call them in the world for before even Hinduism came to be. Christianity is one of the youngest WORLD religons known today. It is also the religon that came into the world and DEMANDED that EVERYONE follow their way or die for being a non-believer in Jesus and God. Hinduism is also the only world religion to take on christianity, try it and actually REVERT BACK to their old way's and beliefs because Christianity was not for them. Oh sure there were many who did actually convert to the christian way, however there were many more who either stayed with the old ways or tried the new only to go back because it was their way. Budhisim wasn't even really a religion exactly it was just the words, sayings, feelings of a Man named Buddah who sought spiritual enlightenment through peace and harmony.

I look at all the beliefs in the world today and I compaire them to Christinity and I will say this simply, of all the religions; Christianity is and probably will be the MOST violent belief in the world.

An Eye for an Eye, Suffer not a Witch to Live.. etc. etc. etc.
Follow our way or be thrown in prison for blasphomy or pagan beliefs. Deny those such as the Native American's to do their traditional ceremonies when they were dragged to reservations against their own will ALL because CHRISTIANS wanted their land and because they believed they were just HEATHANS and the Devil's own children. It was MAN who said these things. Yet you read how GOD is a FORGIVING GOD a LOVING GOD an ACCEPTING GOD... Where is all this Forgiveness, love and acceptance he is supposed to give to those who do not follow his path? He wasn't forgiving to the Native Americans.. he wasn't accepting of the Midwives and Healers if they "screwed" up and someone decided to accuse them of Witchcraft allowing them to be KILLED, TORTURED, MAIMED and Even RAPED all in the name of GOD???

I won't clump the other dieties into looking at the Christian god as being the higher power because if they did this world really would be HELL on EARTH. However as I said, many believe they do look to a higher power as their own guide in helping their followers. So YES I do belive that where religions are concerned they are equal... save for Christianity.

Sorry but you've opened up a can of worms here, but are you truly ready to accept with an open mind what others have to say or just close your ears saying LALALALALA I can't HEAR you because we aren't saying what you want to hear?

Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all worship the same one God, whether they call him Jehovah, Adonai, or Allah.

The gods of polytheistic religions like the Egyptians, Greeks, and Norse are all distinct.
