I'm making some pastries and need Baking Powder, but I don't have any. I need to make these tonight for a family thing in the morning. If anyone knows any substitutions for Baking Powder, that'd be wonderful.

Thank you so much everyone :). Lucky for me, I had 2 things of Cream Of Tartar in the cabinet from when I made an Italian Cream Cake a couple of weeks ago. I used the Baking Soda and Cream Of Tartar mixture for a substitute and it turned out perfectly. :)

baking powder is a combination of a base- sodium bicarbonate also know as Arm& Hammer and an acid AKA cream of tartar.
when you add water to it -the acid attacks the base releasing CO2 -all those nice bubbles. this leavens the food.
Double acting baking powder acts with water and heat.
While it is highly likely that you have Arm & Hammer in your house , it's also highly unlikely that you have cream of tartar. Substitute a different acid, lemon juice, white vinegar buttermilk and be prepared to work quickly.
have fun
