I think because they believe God should be like an indulgent, overprotective parent - controlling everything.

I believe Satan is responsible for the bad things. God, for whatever reason, allows it. But He walks through it with us.

Because the people who accuse cannot explain whatever is going on, so they accuse God because the natural disaster was mighty in force, and they suppose that God created everything, so He is responsible, and in controll of the weather, so they think God could have prevented it.
I really don't understand why they do it either because most who accuse God, claim to be unbelievers. Hummm.......Mabey this verse will describe your question.

Rom 1:19 because the thing which may be known of God is clearly revealed within them, for God revealed it to them.
Rom 1:20 For the unseen things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being realized by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, for them to be without excuse.

Look around, and at the depth of creation, and the details of life and the universe.
Look at the human body, and emotions, feelings, ect...
How could that be from evolution?, tar pit?, big bang?

How does a womans body nurish a baby inside her womb?
How does her body" just " know how to produce food for her baby?
How does her body "just" know when to deliver the baby?
Who created feelings and emotions?
Who created the brain and the thinking of a human, and Why did animals not "inherit" the ability to think, and type on the computer? LOL
Why Why Why?
I'm sorry, I don't believe that a tar pit, or a "Big Bang" or a monkey could get us this far.
Comon.....look around you, look real deep and hard, and you try to explain to me, How the "big Bang" was the beginning of your ability to be asking such questions, not including the technology that your typing on.
Can a dog do that? Can a plant? Explosion?

the definition of god is, the creator, the guy who is running the show. satan is only given powers by god, otherwise he and his angels could do nothing. people call on god for help, not satan. its the adult equivalent of kids discussing why their parents are so mean because they wont let the kid eat the cookies in the cookie jar, or buy them a toy they think they need to complete their happiness. satan is not our father, but our brother, very much on the wrong side of the tracks. god is the landlord, the boss, the decider of fates.

because in the advertisements for god, he is all knowing and all powerful and all merciful, if the ads are true why would he let bad things happen to you, that is why he is blamed for the bad stuff. If the propaganda would say god is limited then Satan would take some of the blame.

Maybe because they give GOD more credit then Satan they expect more from GOD because even if the bad thing was initiated by Satan I guess I feel GOD could stop it if SHE wanted to

Satan is a servant of God!
In the Bible,God discussed with him regarding how to go and test Job,who was a lover of God.
So,the position of Satan,is to test people regarding their attachments to this material world:do you love God or this material world? So,most people nowadays are saying yes to Satan, when they are so busy making a lot of money, and have no time left for God's worship.
So it's not Satan to be blamed,it's all those who have chosen the facilities of this temporary and illusory world, instead of God's spiritual world.

No, you're puzzled. Atheists are putting forward... IF there's a god who's all effective and all worrying, *why* attempt this stuff ensue? The existence of suffering isn't a situation for atheists, only for theists who believe in a loving god.

I think people actually blame themselves (not God) for any bad thing that occurs.
I think today's society has stopped believing that there is such a thing as Satan. People seem to believe that they create their own hell.
