Looks like only guys answered your question, so please allow a female to give you a different perspective. My son is expected to be 5'8" at maturity, which by the way is considered average height! You qualify for any job at that height, except maybe jockey. I am 4'10" and my husband is 6'2" and, yes, it is in the genes and the nutrition to which you are exposed.

You could be 5'6" or less. At least, clothing and suits will fit, or you can buy off the rack. Remember what Randy Newman sang: "Short People Got No Reason To Live!" Only he's wrong. Jockeys make a lot of money, and it is a royal pain in the a$$ to find pants with a 32" waist and a 36" inseam for a guy. A guy too tall can't fly planes (no head or leg room).

I once dated a 6'4" guy, and danced with his belt buckle most of the evening - how romantic! Think about it. You can have the pick of so many! And "height" is not measured in inches or feet; it's measured in character. No matter how high you go, you can still be a bottom feeder if you have no character.

You could still grow! My ex grew until he was 25 years old. His mom was 5'8 and his father was 5'10. He got to be 6'1/2 inches! Not sure how it happen (no he was not adopted). We guessed he just had past relatives that carried the 'tall' gene. It just skipped a generation.

My great grandfather was 6' 1 while his son was 5' 5. My dad is 5'6 and I am 5' 9.5. My brothers are about an inch taller than me so you cannot count on genetics. It's weird how these things work out but the way I figure it is that I am shorter than some and taller than others.

Damn, I'm only 5ft 7in. I didn't realise until I saw this how bad this was.
I was ok until I read this, now I'm so depressed. Anyone got any shoes with lifts or stilts they would want to donate to me? Hell, I'm even shorter than this guy, I need help even more! If I get any spares I'll pass them on to him.

PS If you're sending me stilts, could you send me some long stripey trousers, a red waistcoat and a top hat as well please? Thanks!

its your genes... they determine what you look like.. how tall u are.. the color of your eyes... .

it also depends on diet.. the more nutrients and vitamins you eat help your body grow to its fullest extent..

plus some guys still have their last growth spurt at 22....

your moms genes are were more dominant than your dads...

that's cute...same here-but i'm only 5'4"---no fair.....it seems tall plus tall equals tall, and short plus short equals short, but tall plus short equals what you get! What's wrong with that height? It's a smile that's the best!
