I can't imagine why it would be. What's the difference between a string bikini and a bra? Boxers and swim trunks? I see a lot of girls driving by the beach in bikinis. It's probably illegal to drive nude, because that would be probably indecent exposure, but other than that I see no problem. If I were a cop and I saw a chick driving in her underwear, I would certainly pull her over and give her a really long lecture. I'm talking probably an hour. No ticket, not even a warning, just a really long talk. Then I would radio all my other cop friends and instruct them to do the same. Now if I pulled over a fat chick in her underwear, that would be a totally different story. I would give her a ticket for being a public eyesore, the same way the city can fine you for having a junk car sitting in front of your house. My life has no room for fat chicks in underwear.

If you are a male, it is not illegal with the exception of a small town in Florida where it is against the law for males to have their chests not covered in public. For women, if wearing a bra and panties, it is not illegal. If wearing panties only, it depends upon the juristiction. In New York City, women have the legal right to go bare chested. This occured many years back, when a group of women challenged men being able to have their chests bare in public, and the law was change so that women could as well.

For those who jumped to "yes, it's illegal", consider that most underwear covers more than many swimwear. As long as the genitals are covered and 1/2" strap of some sort down the crack of the butt, and nipples for women, then it is legal.

when i drove a school bus, i drove in my underwear until a cop stopped me and said, "put some clothes on you hippie, and take that stop vd jack off bumper sticker off the back of the bus." so i assume it must be illegal.

Not if your a guy, but if your a girl people will see the breasts, OH NO. So that would make it illegal if your a girl. Is that a sexist law?

According to the laws at (http://home.att.net/~saran/list.htm) Indecent exposer means you have to show your genatilia so I would have to say it is NOT illegal but I gave you a web site to check out.

As long as you got the major stuff covered, no. The only things you can't show are your breasts/nipples and your down there area. But if that's covered, go for it. They can't stop you. Just say you are wearing a bikini.

No however, I wouldn't recommend getting out of your car as that may be indecent exposure. You should wear a bathing suit...That was it will be more acceptable

I think it is. If you are in the United States of America, yes; I think it is illegal there.
