*hugs* I'm sorry to hear of your loss. My husband had a lab/chow that was a wonderful dog, gentle loving, wouldn't hurt a fly ( literally too LOL ) and he went from being a spry 13 or so year old dog to a dog who couldn't stand or walk and would stop breathing for a few moments in just a day. Our vet who is my daughter's grandfather on her natural father's side was shocked at the change in the dog when we brought him in after only seeing him 2 weeks before. Seems after he was put to sleep ( and even that hurt him because he was so skin sensitive and any time a needle was stuck in him he would cry out. It was the HARDEST thing for all of us to have to go through; even my ex father in-law cried becuase even he knew the last memory the dear dog had was the prick of a needle that hurt him), my ex father in-law palpated his stomach and bowels as is the norm and discovered a large mass on his side.. a mass that hadn't been there 2 weeks earlier. We didn't do an autopsy but he was pretty certain it was a malignant mass that had a rapid growth spurt causing the rapid deteriation.

It's never fun loosing a beloved pet. Many people don't really understand just how attached some of us become with our pets. They are like our own children when they die it's like losing a part of yourself too as if it were your own child.

Keep your best friends memory alive and consider this, he will always be there by your side when you are at your saddest even if it's not physical. It's something I have always believed in with my pets. There are just times you just KNOW your beloved pet is right there beside you supporting you and letting you know it's OK. Who knows in time, maybe you will find a new best friend and maybe Deefa will be the one who points you to that new best friend.

*HUGS*

Again I'm sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry for your loss.I bought a ShihTzu almost 3 yrs ago,he's the first dog that I have had that is actually mine and not the kids'.I have often thought how lonely my life would be without him.I hope that you can find another dog that you can love. Your deefa wouldn't want you to be alone and sad!
