Think about your question " a little girl " she might have been taught this , or feels so strongly about her religion that she believes this . Kids will say what they think at times .However , in one religion #@%& I was taught from some there , that others not beleiving as we were being taught , would go to .... the devil . I never forgot those words or the person . As some of my family were in different religions and I was a little girl that cried because my cousin would someday die and never see each other again.

She was probably taught that. God is the only one who decides who goes to heaven or hell. Tell that girl (if you can) "He who is without sin, cast the first stone" No matter what religion someone is, they have no right to judge another person. She should be concerned with being a good person and not worry about what other people believe. You can't force someone to believe what you believe. A lot of religions use scare tactics to recrewt people. How much do little girls know anyways?

Some one must have taught her that - or she misunderstood something she heard. Instead of kicking the child, explaining to her calmly that she is incorrect, that you have your very own version of heaven that you have been promised too, just as she has. Tell her you are sure we will all be happy in our own slice of heaven and smile. That will get her thinking perhaps and maybe questioning some of the silly notions that get perpetuated through the world.
When I was very small I had an uncle who was very biggotted - he used the nastiest racial terms. If it wasn't for the fact that every time he did, my mother was right behind me, saying quietly in my ear - that is wrong, you should never use such an ugly word - I might have grown up thinking this man was right and I might have emulated him. Perhaps this girl has no one in her life to whisper in her ear. We shouldn't give up an opportunity to help another understand tolerance, especially one so small.

You children can get thing mixed up, or she really could of been taught that...
I used to think that if I ask for anything I was suppose to get it, ( so I point to the floor in our house and say grow a tree) I was upset I my house didn't become a TREE house didn't grow in my living room...
They had just taught that Jesus turn water into wine.
I was about 7
We learn even through our un answered prayer.

some particular sects of christianity believe that unless you accept Jesus as your personal savior, you will be eternally damned
now, although i am Christian, i believe that as long as someone is a good person, then they've got a ticket to Heaven
heck - the Mormons will even give people a second chance and baptize people after death to give their soul a choice.
it is very sad, but some sects are very closed-minded, and i think it stops them from enjoying a lot of relationships they could have if they could accept others for who they are and not what religion they choose to (or not) practice.
i have a friend who thinks most everyone she knows is going to Hell (including me because I am not her particular kind of Christian) - i don't think i could live in a world if i really believed everyone around me would suffer eternally. could you?

That's what my grandma told me when I was 11 in not so many words. I asked what would happen if I didn't get baptised and she said I would go to hell.
So yes, she was taught that and that is why she said it.
Added Edit: And that is precisely why I am not a Christian anymore. One should find god on their own and not have it shoved down their throats or believe out of fear.

That's the way Baptists are taught from birth.
Baptists believe and teach that the only people going to heaven are just those Baptists who go to the right church and even most of them aren't going to heaven.

Little kids learn things somewhere, either from their parents or their friends, so yes she was taught it if you want to look at it that way. Unfortunately that is the way prejudice is learned. We are not born prejudice, we are taught it either from our parents, friends, school or the media. It's a sad but true fact.
