Name some good places, particularly in NSW, that a bunch of aussie college students (based in the Sydney area) can visit on a major road trip tangent? i.e. Broken Hill? Is it worth going beyond BH perhaps to Perth via the Nullarbor?

Perth? are you kidding? The Nullabor is nuts. Just hot dry and nothing. And nothing to do on the way except get hot and bored. If you come to Perth FLY.3hrs v 3 days. No contest.

The great Australian road trip should have no destination. Do a rough plan depending on how far you want to drive in a day and drive it. If you haven't seen much of the country, I suggest that you see as much as you can.
