Because when they are babies, people laugh at annoying things and then when they are older those same things are not so cute. Now the child has learned a bad habit and at the same time wants that adoring attention again.

I agree with Ryan's mom. Also, kids are inadvertantly self absorbed and indifferent to the effort parents go through. Cut them some slack, they're 5 years old!

They are only annoying if you don't have the patience to deal with them. They learn about the world around them by asking questions.

I admit I complain about how naughty my five year old is all the time, but he is just curious. He's naughty too, but he's also learning boundaries. He also likes to see my face all contorted in anger and frustration. He thinks it's funny.

their developing has become clouded by the adult world. they learned to talk and with it came the ability to annoy and question.
it only gets worse .. but its fun!
