I love my sheltered small town life.... But sometimes I feel like there is so much more I need to see. I don't want to leave the place and the people I love, but I don't know what I want to do with my life. I'm going to graduate soon, and I have no clue what path I'm on. Any suggestions??

Are there maybe three separate things that you are asking? (1) Travel (2) Guidance about whether you should leave your town to chose a career? (3) A career suggestion?

If I have understood you correctly, then, here goes:
(1) Travel and see as much of the world as you can
(2) ask yourself what you would like to do to make a career and earn the moolah, over maybe the next five to ten years.
(3) Probably the answer to the type of career and the place you can seek it lies in the above two answers.

I can cite a personal example. I am from Bangalore, India.
My daughter took up Science as university course (PUC), because Science at that stage gave her the choice to opt for (1) Medicine (2) Engineering (3) a basic degree in science majoring in fields such as Physics, or Chemistry or Mathematics or Botany or Zoology. Later on she plans to do a (Masters) Post Graduate course in Business Management.
Taking science also gave her an option to switch to commerce or arts as a degree.
After her PUC exams, where did quite well,
She appeared for state level competitive exams for selection
for engineering, medicine and biotechnology. At the same time, she also appeared for tests for a Bachelor in Business Management course.(BBM), and she passed three levels of tests for this course too.
When her state level competitive results for medicine or engineering were what she felt not up to the mark, because, she would not get a choice to pick a good college without my having to pay a fortune as donations, she opted for the BBM course. though I would have love d to have one of children to become a doctor, I did not impose that on her (my older son who is now doing a degree in Computer Science also went through a similar series of tests), cause it's her life to live. she had to decide for herself.
I hope this has helped.
All the best!

See the world. Experience the reality of people living in other worlds and cultures. If you stil feel like you want to go home.....you can....but at least it won't leave you with that void in your stomach wondering what could have been. Take a year or two off and see the world. ! You will find it is an amazing place.

Nobody ever got what they really wanted by just sitting back in their comfortable spot. Imagine 60 years in the future as a granny, think of how you will feel if you knew then that you didn't take all the chances that came your way. Imagine somebody asking you, what would you do differently in your youth? We live in the digital age, its easy to get in touch with your friends and family by phone, email etc. And don't think of it as leaving permanently (you do that when you die). Its just living somewhere else. You'll be back to visit.

you ever heard of Carrie Underwood? she lived in a very small town, i drive by it every single day on my way to work and if i blink my eye at the right time, i will miss her whole town. so doesn't matter where you live, its all in what you want to do!!

Find a job, that will, at least for awhile, let you travel, then after that you will be able to make a more informed decision about what you want to do, and where you might want to do it.
