Everyone I've met with CFS is just a hypochondriac who likes to complain about how sick they are. I say "why don't go for a run, start with 5 minutes and work your way up?" They say "I'm too tired." If I was chasing them with a gun they wouldn't be too tired.

That's just lazy.

How come, if CFS is real, there is no physical test for it. No measurable physiological symptoms?

I'm sorry you feel that way, I have Multiple Sclerosis which causes me to have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I wish I was just being lazy. I am 40 yrs old and worked from the time I was 16, until 2 yrs ago. I did physical, hard work as long as I possibly could.
No doubt, there are some people who claim to have CFS but it is no different from the people who claim they have back pain and can't work. These are the same people you later see carrying something that is much to heavy for someone suffering back problems.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is a very real and dibilitating disease which robs a person of energy. They tend to sleep numerous hours a day. Normally we sleep 8 hours a day. Someone with Chronic Fatigue sleeps 14 - 18 hours a day.

It would appear that they are lazy, but honestly they are not.

Before making ridiculous statements such as you have just done, why don't you study the subject you are speaking about first...you know the old saying...better to have people think you are ignorant, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt!
Suggesting people are lazy who have been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue speaks volumes of your lack of education on the subject. CF is an auto-immune deficiency which can be debilitating to people.
That would be like walking through the cancer ward and saying they are all just lazy whiners.
Save this space for people who are looking for serious solutions to very real problems.

Fatigue is more than tiredness and has recently been referred to as pathological exhaustion. Fatigue must therefore surely be a normal phenomenon a subjective feeling of tiredness or exhaustion which could refer to both physical (motor activities) and mental (cognitive or emotional) processes. Fatigue is only pathological if it is disabling that is, if it affects a person’s social, physical, and occupational wellbeing.

Hmm, I knew someone diagnosed with that, and far from being lazy it seemed she had a tendency to take on too many projects at once. I think she was still learning how to simplify. She's working at a television station now (writing, not watching.)

I have this as well as sleep apnen. Its no joke! I work and work hard. It makes me mad to hear this talk. If you want to know how this feels, have a friend come over and shove you every 5 min. You will then see how it feels. Any mother of a newborn knows how this feels.

I'm hearing new things here but as far as I know, damage to the posterior hypothalamus causes prolonged sleep.
