They are different which do you prefer -control or closing?
And yes some are for neither-just wanted to know how the others feel between these options.
I am for closing until our problems are fixed. If that offends you sorry its not because of the people for me.

When I say closing it means no more in from anywhere for a time. Except for those applications already in.

I'm all for border control but it doesn't work. Now we're trying to use the military but they're using them for the wrong things. They should be helping stop illegals, not building fences and all that b.s. I know the government will never totally close the borders but they need to do more than is being done now. People coming through illegally aren't just people trying to get over here to find a job like so many people think and no matter what their reason is they are doing it illegally! I think everyone coming here should have a reason and do it according to the law.

I prefer border control. There will always be people who have the right to cross the border. I travel internationally multiple times a year, and that's okay. I have a US passport and visas to get into Brazil and other places.
Illegal border crossing must be stopped. If it's okay for Mexico to expel 3 million Guatemalans, then it must be okay for us to control our border with Mexico.
I don't know the solution for illegals already here. I don't like amnesty. I'm not crazy about a guest worker program (that's how Western Europe got into trouble).
Close the borders to illegals, come up with a workable solution to meet worker needs, and stop all the political posturing.
Washington? Are your listening?
(probably not...)

Closing the border is unrealistic. There needs to be reasonable controls in place that address our nation's need for workers who are from low-level workers to highly skilled professionals. A humane, secure and efficient system needs to replace the current one.
Most people do not realize there are very few legal ways to immigrate to the U.S. And, unfortunately our laws have not caught up with our true economic needs as a nation.
There is nothing inherently moral about the certain classifications of individuals we currently allow into the U.S. Immigration law is distinct from other laws that are based on some violation of some sort of moral code -- i.e., robbing, murdering, raping.
We just decide what sort of people do we want and need in this nation and modify the law accordingly. Immigration law has changed at least 20 times in the last 100 years, with classifications and regulations changing with it.
Our law needs to catch up to the times.

Border Control!! I think we should be competent enough of a Country to secure our borders heavily without having to close it completely.
Closing it would take money that our Government isn't paying for...I can tell you that much!!

both and a quota or limitation as far as percentage of legal immigrants being accepted in the US. the immigrants from Mexico outnumbers the rest of the other legal immigrants from other countries. there is such a thing as population control, there should be a branch that would limit the number of immigrants from south of the border to come in in the US. if we do not do this, they would no longer be "minorities".

I'm for border control, but if that means closing it entirely temporarily while dealing with the present illegal immigrant situation, I'm for that, too.
