It is not. Just ask a Jew. In fact, most Christians do not try to spin that lie anymore either.

Even though God has laid out His calendar in the Bible, astronomers can see the clock of the month in the stars. (Genesis 1 verse 14) Germany officially changed the calendar about 15 years ago to make Monday the first day of the week. In regard to this Daniel 7 verse 25 applies. Astronomy can find natural occurrences as a reason for any calendar, clock, year, or month, but all sciences have always wondered where the week came from. Now calendars have been adjusted throughout history, and history has recorded every adjustment. But the week has not been changed until the Germans did it. So how do we know, FROM THE BIBLE that our Sabbath is the same one Jesus kept? Matthew 28 verse one is only one verification, there are many others! The catholic church is responsible for Sunday worship through the Emporer Constantine's proclamation the "the venerable day of the sun" would be the 'official' day of worship.

So who refers to sunday as the seventh day? I've seen a few calenders but they are mainly by people trying to justify changing 1. (Daniel 7:25) the Sabbath to sunday 2. (Matthew 15:9). Then again I guess it's only important which day is the seventh if one believes that when God said "remember" 3. (Exodus. 20:8) he meant everyone.
The push to change the worlds thought process is the pet project of The Lords Day Observance Society which was officially founded in the early 1800's if I remember correctly. Many people look on Sabbath observance as a "Jewish thing" however it was established at creation before there was a Jewish race, or any other for that matter. Centuries later when God said "remember" He had just delivered the Israelites from approximately 430 years of slavery to a pagan nation. He wasn't establishing a new idea but reaffirming and reminding these people that he was not only their deliverer but also their God and creator.
There is an wonderful book called The Two Babylons by Alexander Hislop that you might find interesting. Happy hunting.

Sunday is the first day. Saturday is the Seventh. before the time of Christ, the Sabbath was celebrated on the seventh day, in commemoration of the creation - the creation was the greatest event up until that time, and on the seventh "day" God rested. After the time of Christ, people began to observe the Sabbath on Sunday, because it was on the first day of the week that Jesus Christ was resurrected - the greatest event since the time of Christ. There are still some people, though, who recognize the Sabbath on Saturday, like the Jews, and the Seventh-Day Adventists. So, Sunday is sometimes referred to as the seventh day because they are referring to Sunday being the Sabbath, and in the beginning, the Sabbath was the seventh day.

The Bible clearly makes the Sabbath the last day of the week, but does not share how that corresponds to our 7 day week. Yet through extra-biblical sources it is possible to determine that the Sabbath at the time of Christ corresponds to our current 'Saturday.' Therefore it is common Jewish and Christian practice to regard Sunday as the first day of the week (as is also evident from the Portuguese names for the week days). However, the fact that, for example, Russian uses the name "second" for Tuesday, indicates that some nations regard Monday as the first day.

In international standard ISO-8601 the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has decreed that Monday shall be the first day of the week.

from what I understand the early church wanted to repect their parent by going to church on satbbath aand they have their own meeting on sunday

It is well documented that the early church had adopted Sunday as their day of worship. The book of Acts in chapter 20, verse 7 speaks of this, "On the first day of the week, when we met to break bread, Paul began to speak to the people…" and 1 Corinthians 16:2, "On the first day of the week, each of you should set aside some income and save it to the extent that God has blessed you, so that a collection will not have to be made when I come." These passages indicate that Christians were probably meeting regularly on Sunday (the first day of the week). They did this most likely because Christ rose on the first day of the week. It wasn't until hundreds of years later that the death of Christ became the focal point of Christian worship services. That is not to say they thought it unimportant; but they were primarily concerned with His victory over death, most realized in His resurrection.
