I can only imagine what the advertisers of the U.S. Open must be going through without Tiger there. It has to mean a lot fewer viewers!

THe ratings will certainly suffer since Woods won't be playing. THe ratings will be down by no less than 25%.

Definitely!!! Tiger woods got a lot of new support and also attracted a lot of new and younger people into the sport!!! He has millions of fans world wide especially in the younger generations of golfers. With out him playing a lot of viewers will not bother watching it, I know i wont now. I think it will make a drastic difference in there ratings/

once you a lay off as long as Tiger did it takes awhile to get those aggressive juices flowing. Tiger Woods ia exceptional golfer and that i'd not be a great deal surprised if he has a good round on Friday and makes the decrease - triumphing will be a good purchase harder!

Yes, but to some degree. Tiger has been through a lot of hell since his dad succumbed to cancer last month. I think we need to pray for him. He'll try to bounce back on the next or any of the upcoming PGA tournaments this year. It's time for us to just leave him alone for a little while.

I personally think that a golf tournament should be played at a course that is considerably standard not so damn difficult that makes world top players look at amature trying to make par. I like to see them play their best, curving the ball and back spinning it. Not like playing 70 per cent trying at best to avoid bogies and double. I think USPGA and US open has become a tormenting place for tour pro. I still favour the Masters at Augusta any time, where the course is beautiful and playes anticipate to get eagles and birdies..

it will hurt the ratings some, there are still plenty of names and story lines to build up over the weekend, phil mickelson is quickly becoming the #1-b of golf to tiger, and they will play him up big time, the tradition of it ending on fathers day also always gets me and my pops to the tv on sunday afternoon

Ratings will suffer but I like to see other guys win. Nike can't be happy either paying him 20mil annually.
