In the Bible, Jesus is referred to as, "The Great Physician." The disciples included a physician in their number by the name of Luke. Jesus healed the sick, made the lame walk, the blind to see. He commanded the disciples to go out into the world and perform these same tasks. Luke, the physician, being one of them.

God created us, Jesus was the Word made flesh who saved us, and the Holy Spirit teaches us and will stay with us until Christ comes again. But we are all bestowed with talents, skills, and gifts, as it states in Corinthians. Some people are musicians, some are scientists, some are laborers or servants, some work in government, some are homemakers.

Physicians are just one part of those who have the skills and talents to heal. God gives them their skills and talents, they worked diligently to be educated, certified, licensed, and regulated so that we know they proved their capabilities.

Having faith in God means believing that his promises are true. And sending the "Great Physician", Jesus Christ, to teach us how to trust Him and those he sends to us to help heal us, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, is all part of that faith.

God put the doctors here for a reason right? The reason could be to show your faith or the reason could be because (now be open-minded) maybe there is no god. I believe in science. Science makes more sense and can be proven. Doctors work mainly through science. I do not see how someone could be a science major in college and still believe in God. I mean I don't think it's possible. Now I am always open-minded about what people have to say about God, and you know that is a good question. Without doctors, we would only live to like 25 if lucky. Now, with immunizations, we are able to live to our maximum. You can see it as not having faith, or maybe God made it that way so that we can live longer and have more of a life to realize our sins, and ask for forgiveness. Some people take longer to realize this right? Ponder this for a while!

The Story goes something like this: People stranded on a roof during a great flood, prayed to The Almighty for "deliverance." "We place our trust in You, Dear Lord, and know you will save us... just give us a sign." Soon two people in a boat pulled up and importuned them to get inside. Not recognizing the people as those from their community, they declined. Later, another, even larger boat pulled up and said this would be the only time to get in as they themselves were fearful. They still declined. Finally, a helicopter descended and warned of more torrential rain and that it was imperative for them to grab unto the rescuer... they said, We'll wait for God's hand, Thank you. Finally, the rescue helicopter crew had to quit their entreats and fly back to base. Later that week, the newspaper, reported the drownings of the family members. God said to Himself, "Not My fault, I set three signs..." The Great Community of God's people are His Intercesssionaries... God is NOT some "performing seal" that you may continually "test." The Spirit may have the power to heal but do you have the sense to know the signs, much more the capacity to receive His abundant grace when it is poured out upon you? His Grace is expressed though the Body of God here on Earth... His Bride to be... take that grace, with grace, or suffer the natural consequences.

well, u have the right to ask that question , but seems that you don't have the basic "knowledge" of how does GOD "allah" want us to live our lives and in which way should we trust " believe " in him ,,,,

first of all , has he told you not to ask for anything from anyone other than him ? if so , then you can't eat , u can't walk , you can't work , you can't do many thing ,but that's wrong ,, , if i'm sick , first of all i will remember GOD , cuz i'm in a weakness moment right now and i need someone i really trust "believe in" to help me ,,, yes ,, i will feel better because just at that moment i will realize that nothing will happen to me except what is meant to happen for me , but ,, at the same time ,,that doesn't mean not to visit a doctor , because this is the way GOD wanted us to live the life on the earth he created for us , benefitial relationships with things and other people doesn't contradict our much higher and stronger relationship with GOD, and a simple example ,,,,, nobody gets money and food just by staying at mosque or church asking GOD for that and praying for him ,,,, he needs to work in order to get what he "needs" and what he " wants" ,,, why is that ? this is the way we were , are meant to live,,, of course ,, with a glorious aim , which i belive totally in ,,,, that is : worshiping GOD , in the way he asked us to ,,,,

all elements i mentioned assure anybody a 100% happy life , if applied correctly and moderately , GOOD LUCK .....

If a Christian gets sick, they take medicine, if they break a bone, they go to a doctor to get it set and plastered, if they have a tumor, they get it surgically removed. Why? Because they know darn well that God will not heal them and prayer does not work. Cemetaries are filled with the remains of people who died from disease and injuries, people whose loved ones prayed fervently with faith and hope and tears. If prayer worked, there would be no hospitals or doctors--a sick person would only have to ask a Christian to pray for him and he'd get well.

As for this nonsense about God giving doctors knowledge--prove it! Why is it that God only just recently gave doctors knowledge to deal with cancer, polio, arthritis, chicken pox, and a huge host of other illnesses? Why didn't he give such knowledge to doctors hundreds of years ago, to prevent the epidemics of influenza, bubonic plague, and smallpox that ravaged entire nations? Prayer availed them nothing! The fact is that it is HUMANS who developed their own knowledge of how to help the sick. If there were a deity involved, then it would have provided that knowledge long ages ago and not just in the last hundred years or so. Medicine works, belief in God does not. Just ask any Christian who takes her child to a doctor.

God is all -powerfull. Instead of creating man as a puppet, he granted him free will. When we trust in God and go to him with our prayers, he provides a way for those prayers to be answered. Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers, etc. can all be acting out the will of God.
You must trust God to be a guiding influence in the Doctor's life.
It's kind of like asking; "How can you trust in God when surrounded by sin?"
People have a choice to make and your choice must start with who you are and what you really believe. Before berating God for the outcome of one of your decisions, think; Did you ask Him first? then Did you obey?

It's a bit like asking how you can trust in God if you eat. We live in a certain order or status of existence in which we are allowed to and must govern our affairs almost entirely in the material/natural plain. We are given brains, so you use them. We are given hands, so build and heal. We are given words and speech, so spread healing and peace. To find the supernatural component, compare the doctor's stictches on a young patients arm to the stitches placed on a body in the morgue. The body in the morgue will not heal, yet the doctor did the same procedure in each. No doctor can heal the body, only facilitate healing.

All good comes from God. God made mankind, so he made the doctor. The doctor's knowledge comes from God because medical knowledge is good and all good comes from God. The doctor was blessed with the intelligence and desire to practice medicine. Thank God for doctors!

God expects you to put forth a reasonable effort in living. Miracles are not to be relied on, and God is not to be tested. Why, Jesus would not throw himself off a cliff when Satan asked him to, because he knew he should put forth a reasonable effort in living. We can't expect God to intervene in our actions, just so that we can believe. We have to have faith, and faith occurs without constant proof. Miracles used to be when there was no other hope left, but never just for entertainment, and they have long stopped occurring anyway. As well, a more practical hope for a miracle, when it comes to medicine, is going to the doctor, and hoping for a good result, rather than just not going at all.
