i asked him this(I was wondering, what you thought of me? Are we just friends, or something more than friends? Last year I liked you for more than just frinds, and I was wondering how you felt about me)
and he answered me this ( At this current point in time, we're just friends. Cause I'm not 16 yet and I'm trying to stick to that no dating till then thing. But maybe in August?) so what does he mean by it? i'm not reading to much into it am i?

That means he just wants to have you as a friend. He didn't want to tell you that in a harmful way, that's why he said that. Most of the time is because girls cause him trouble, with friends, family and relatives. fights and all that.

I think it means that right now you should just remain friends and maybe it will progess to g/f and b/f.
