Just installed Win 2000 Pro. Windows 2000 Pro sometimes shows a countdown timer and shut down automatically. Nothing can stop it. How can get rid of this problem? I'm using pirated version. I know it's possible to stop by editing registry. But how?

You'd have to do a lot of registry editing for that, a virus is causing that problem, a very old virus that usually infects the NT based platforms. The problems will be in deferent sections in your pc so it can't be said certainly where to fix it.

There are two ways you have to fix it, first you have to install a good quality anti-virus software in your system, like - nod32, bitdefender etc. You can try downloading the trail versions, or you can have pirated copy from me. Secondly, you have to update your version of windows 2000. Windows is not a very reliable platform to use so you have to keep it upto date in order to be in safe distance from messing it up. Though you are using a pirated copy you can always download service packs and updates from microsoft.com or any other non-official site and install them, just be sure those does not contain any virus, and before installing any update make sure your pc is clean.

Does it say NT AUTHORITY SYSTEM shutting down? If yes your computer is infected by a virus. No workarounds here, get an antivirus software as you bought windows (you know what i mean) and update it and scan the computer. Problem should be resolved.

A humble request please get a legal copy of windows and reduce piracy. If not possible in some countries where the license fee is high as getting a new PC you can opt for Linux based OS which are free.

This issue is due to damaged system files caused by a internet worm or a virus installed on your pc..
I recommend you to re-install your windows operating system and then install a security program. If you are using internet then install a good internet security program like Norton internet security 2006 and if you only want antivirus then choose norton antivirus 2006.

RUN LINUX!!! You can download a copy for free and the software you will be using is LEGAL. I would recommend Freespire or Ubuntu if you have never tried Linux before.
