Not necessarily. When one finishes a project one rests because there is no more work to be done. In this same manner God completed the creation on the 6th day and rested on the 7th day.

Mr. Answer . . . "Crush the head of the serpent."

Rest to us might mean tired and limited power/strength, but God didn't need to rest, he rested and enjoyed his creation, although he did not need to.

The bible says that man was created in God's image. Maybe sleeping is part of God's image. Didnt you ever wonder how we can sleep for eight hours and work for sixteen hours, how does an eight hour charge last for sixteen hours or more? (considering that you go to bed at 10p and wake up 6a, everyday, or most days). Some people dont even feel tired after being awake for sixteen hours. Just a little additional food for thought.

Genesis is not meant to be taken literally. Did God create everything as we know it in 6 days? I wasn't there so I don't know, but I'll tell you that from everything science has proven God certainly did not create humans so early.

Now the reason why Genesis has God rest is because 6 is imperfect, since God created everything to be perefect he rested for a day so the creation would take 7 days.

A rest means a pause. God finished his creation on the 6th day and is at rest. Meaning he is done creating.

His creating will resume when He creates a new earth.

Why not? Why should he have to work all the time. We don't. He's God, he can rest whenever he wants to and has a perfect right to do it.

Maybe He had to stay home that day to wait for the cableTV installer to come by to hook up His cable service.

God doesn't need anything. He doesn't need us yet He created us anyway. He just did. He's God. He'll do what he pleases.

He did it because he knew you would ask this question. Don't ask us, ask him. He will give you an answer if you really want to know.
