Experiencing death does not scare me - I will do what I can to make sure it is the last thing I do - but I am not afraid.

I don't want a long, painful death, but if that is what God has planned for me, then I will accept it and take joy in some of the suffering that Jesus experienced on the cross.

It doesn't just scare me, it's my biggest fear. I'm not a religious person, so I don't imagine that there is a heaven with my already departed friends and family waiting. Actually, I envy those that do believe in afterlife or heaven, because it would be truly comforting to believe that this is something after death. I've pondered this issue and always find myself torn - I want to believe, but it's almost like asking me to believe in Santa Claus. It's horrifying to think that when I die, I'm gone forever. No second chances - this is it. It changes the way I go about life, too. I feel a constant sense of urgency...I need to to this or that before I die. The death of others' close to me is equally as difficult, but perhaps since I know that they believe, I'm somehow comforted...which I suppose is a sign that even I have questions about what might happen after death. The one thing I know for sure is this: NOT believing in heaven and Christ is HELL on Earth. I don't need anyone to tell me this, as I've figured it out on my own. I pay for my doubts by living in fear of death every day.

No, it does not scare me any more ! It is the only certainty in life ! Why it scares people is because, they are not serious about a very fundamental issue concerning life ! Now having missed it all along, it may be a good idea to begin from the 'end' as to what could be the first problem of a dead person? A consolation that can be offered is that 'logic' clears the doubt regarding 'death' like this... " Is not absense of life called death? (like absence or less of heat as cold, absence of light as darkness, etc!).

It only scares me in regard to knowing that I won't be there for my loved ones. I am confident that I'm going to be with God, so why worry?

Think of it this way- every person who has ever lived before now, has gone through it. It is natural. No matter what you believe, there's nothing to worry about, as long as you live your life in the best way you know how. Be true to yourself, and don't compromise your beliefs. Whether your time is up very soon, or if you have half a century or more ahead of you, just live without regret, and you won't fear death.

Yes it does but not for the reason you would think. I lost my fiance in 2002, it was very sudden. Seeing him like that made me realize how sudden death can hit you. I went to a grief and loss group but I still worry about death. I worry that I won't have my parents tomorrow, I worry that something will take my nephews. What I have learned from death is to value the people I have while I have them. That I am lucky for what I have.

The only thing that scares me about death is its coming too soon and not being able to do all the things in life that I want to do.

Death, now that will be a great adventure...

Life scares me not death.

The only reason why would be because of going off to new places/by your self. Just like going off to a new school with different people around you, but when you see some one you know? WOW! ( HEY WHATS UP) you feel comfortable and not alone.
One last saying is that, it would feel good saying hi to the person you pray to every night. In Jesus Name. Amen.

I don't think it so much that dying scares me. It scares me to not know how I'm going to die. My biggest fear is to die by drowning or by fire. But if I could die in my sleep ooooooh that would be great and I wouldn't have a problem with it at all.

It also scares me to die of a sickness where I'm in a hospital waiting to die. Also it's a bummer to be told that your about to die and there nothing a doctor can do for you, so once again I'm just waiting to die.
