I'm not very familiar with all types of 2-way radios. The MARINE, LAND and AIR 2way radios EACH works on DIFFERENT FREQUENCYs, right?

are there handheld units that work both land and marine?

thanks

you can make just about any handheld 2 way radio work on any frequency really. if you have a motorola gp series then it would be awsome even an general electric those are the ones i had and they worked for fire and police and ambulance when i was in emegency services and i took them to a radio shop to get them tuned to the right frequencies as well as some had to get a tiny crystal chip in them then all i had to do was change the channel and get another place like channel one was me and fire 2 was cops and 3 was the ambulance.

I would make sure you test that thing before you buy it as 50$ is kinda cheap. I have several cb radios one is a handheld and they arent very good either way you look at it. I do like midland though and if you only need about a mile of radius (2 if your lucky) pick that thing up and take it.

actually, yes, but it is very expensive, do google for a company called Yesu. I think that's how it is spelled. It's a radio that is used by shortwave people for search and rescue operations for FEMA and EMS.

Yes but:

1.) they're bulky

2.) you need an Am. Radio Operator's license to buy one.
