How can we do this in this day in age? Is devoting one day out of the week to worship God enough? What if you are scheduled to work that day?

What do you think God wants us to do?

God wants us to obey him

"What pleases the Lord more: burnt offerings and sacrifices or obedience to his voice? It is better to obey than to sacrifice of sheep. Disobedience is as bad as the sin of sorcery. Pride is as bad as the sin of worshiping idols. You have rejected the Lord's command. Now he rejects you as king."

Love. If you love God you will want to keep the Sabbath. It isn't simply about worshipping Him and you get no benefits. someone mentioned it already, but the Sabbath was made for man and not the other way around. It was also meant for us to be able to rest and be connected once again with our Maker, Father, and Saviour. To not take that one day for yourself is like depriving yourself of energy and strength to fight the good fight we all have to fight with. There was also a study done, that found that the heart rate tends to slow down on the Sabbath...to me this indicates peaceful rest. If you believe that God loves you, believe that He will look out for you and your need to survive and have a job. Try asking your employer-you might be surprised...many people would love a Sunday off if you trade with them. And if not, which does happen at times...have faith..pray...God will not leave you without an open door. You have practiced faith in Him and He will make sure your needs are met.

1. Easy . . . pray for grace.

2. Apparently . . . That is what God reqiures. Exodus 20:8

3. You stand up for God and tell your employer that God has given you the Sabbath day off to worship Him and that you will not work on the Holy Sabbath of the Lord. Show him Exodus 20:8. Then if your boss fires you then you Praise the Lord because you have done His will and obeyed His Word.

Mr. Answer . . . "Crush the head of the serpent."

Let me respond directly to each of your questions:

1. Yes.
2. Easy. Consecrate yourself to God.
3. Nothing is enough in performing one's devotion to God.
4. Then don't work that day -- you're smart enough to figure that out.
5. Follow THE LAW.

Peace be with you!

Personally, I don't think God cares which day you choose to worship him - he asks for ONE day. I don't remember reading in the Bible what day God started working on creating the universe, only that it took Him 6 days to do it.

Is one day enough? That is all that He requires. I go to Mass when I can during the week, but make sure that I am there EVERY Sunday.

In the olden days the village would gather to stone anyone who worked on the Sabbath. Now the villagers gather to get stoned and not work on the Sabbath. Keep it Holy.

Matthew 28 verse 1 shows that our calendar days of the week are the same as they were in Jesus' time. As far as your idea of keeping just any day I refer you to Exodus 31 verse 13 where God says it is a "sign" between you and Him.

That is why this country is good that way. Freedom of religion.
You have every right to have that one day to do just that and to be with family and celebrate life, G-d, and so forth. You do the best you can now if you have to work on that day because you need to financially then he/she will forgive you because he/she does not want to see you struggling to live.

2. If there is a Supreme Being, then that being appears to act as if apathetic to events in our universe.

All events in our Universe, including its creation, can be explained with or without the existence of a Supreme Being. Thus, if there is indeed a God, then that god has had no more impact than no god at all. To all appearances, any purported Supreme Being is indifferent to our Universe and to its inhabitants.
