I could tell you why the Catholic priest are pro illegal. Because I'm catholic. in the church you are taught to care for the poor no matter where they are from,criminal background or illegal etc....Example let's say a illegal immigrant just crossed the border and is dying of thirst and goes to a Catholic Church for water and shelter, the priest of course is gonna help the poor person. Even if it would be a felony to aid an illegal immigrant. Why because they are HUMAN BEINGS!!!!and the priest rather follow the "laws of God" then the laws of the Government.

Amnesty for most illegals is the only answer.And I don't believe that "illegals" are ruining this country.They only make up 4% of the population.How can they do so much damage,only if they are more populated in one area than an other.They have a bigger majority in big cities than in other areas.And how can you not feel a crunch in big cities,populations grow faster in metropolitan areas.Not for just illegals,for citizens also.Because they are the majority.Alot of ppl have hate for these ppl,and they want to blame all of their problems on them.They are scapegoats.

The catholic churches in America have been hurt badly by sex scandals in the last few years and need people to fill the pews and donate to the Church. As far as politicians, they want only votes to stay in office. They(politicians) think that if they give Amnesty to illegals the illegals in turn will reward the politicians by voting to keep them in office.

I am going to assume "ruin the country" means, in my opinion - failing to look out for the common good of society.

The explanation is quite simple: religious and political leaders end up doing more bad than good when they do two things:

1) Place their own self-interest ahead of the interests of others
