I didn't give my life to a book, but to the author of my life. God, hands down. The bible shows that God does change things from time to time (e.g. when gentiles began to be included in the kingdom of God), but his character always remains the same.
To be clear though, the bible is not outdated, and the principles apply, and it is the Holy Spirit of God that speaks through those words to us. No matter how far down the road humanity has gone technologically, or in any other pursuit, it remains that humans still deal with the same classic problems of forgiveness, purpose, relationship, love, anger, the hardwired nature of us to relate to a God, etc. and the bible is therefore not at all out of date in those fundamentals of relationship with God.

The Bible itsels says it is from God, mankind's Creator, at
2 Timothy 3:16,17. The Bible is the only book that has foretold the disasterous condition that mankind is and have been living through, it explains its meaning and what the outcomes will be. This can be found at 2 Timothy 3:1-5 and Luke 21:25-31. It tells what we must do in order to survive the impending world destruction, with the opportunity to gain eternal life under righteous conditions here on earth. (Zephaniah 2:3; John 17:3;
Psalms 37:10, 11, 29)
The Bible enable us to understand the purpose of life. It answers such questions as: Where did life come from?(Acts 17:24-26) Why are we here? Is it just to live a few years, get what we can out of life, and then die? (Genesis 1:27,28; Romans 5:12; Psalms 40:8)
The bible speaks of the things that have taken place before our time, before our parents time, and before our grandparents times, and so on and so on.... It speaks of the things that are taking place in the time we live in now and the things that will take place in the future, and yet it was written some thousands of years ago.

The Book says God never changes so He wouldn't change the Book. The Bible is not a book of rules nor is it outdated. If you read what it actually says instead of just listening to rhetoric about it you would understand that. Start in the book of John.

The Bible points us to God. So, if I have found God, I guess I would not need the Bible. So, I will choose God over the Book.

If you read the bible it says that he is the Alpha, the Omega, the beginning, the everlasting. The word is god. He is unchanging and he does not change anything from past to present to future. So I would be reluctant to say that I choose a new bible cause in the bible is states that his unchanging word is forever. I would think twice before asking a question such as this cause we should not play with God and we should not tempt him nor change anything of what he is about.

A book is a book but the holy bible is important you can never replace god with a book because he comes first. so if i had to choose i'd choose god. but i would still read the bible as he instructed. but you can never know cause there are all these bibles out and know one know what the orignal one said. so i'd pick god all the way. christians don't worship the bible they worship the holliness of god and worship. he is the only way through heaven and we have to obey him.

The Bible is the word of God. God and the Bible are inseparable. So as I choose God, I am also choosing the Bible at the same time.

St. John 1:1,2
1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2) The same was in the beginning with God.
So I choose both because God and the Word are the same. Got to have God, Got to have his word.

This is a really stupid question!!
GOD is ALL powerful and therefore was well capable of making his views well known to those that followed Him and listened to HIM.
As the Bible states about GOD "I ma God. I change NOT, neither is there the shadow of change in Me."
therefore the bible is not nor can it ever be outdated!
I'll take God, and he gave the Bible to me so that I can know him better. So by taking him, I get both.
