People think that the US is this big great country. Yes we have a lot of freedom. May be too much. But for us to grant illegal immigrants benefits would be just plain crazy. OK they are cheat labor, but they are not US CITIZEN, you must earn that. Just like you go to other countries. Its not fair to those who are legally over here.

It is funny how Americans take their rights as citizens for granted. We have more rights then any other country's citizens in the world. That is why so many people want our citizenship. And remember the economics motto "unlimited wants with limited resources." The more citizens we have the less rights we will have...but, that is ok...because if we weren't paying more taxes for immigrants we would just pay more taxes for something else. More taxes you say? But why? Because most of the immigrants are uneducated and will work lower paying jobs...less income = less taxes taken out of their checks...lower income = greater government aid...greater government aid = more taxes on the middle class. Ask any economists or social scientist if you don't believe me!

They shouldn't have any benefits. They are here illegally. And I don't think they should get a free ride either.

Take them to the border and then make them work (at minimum wage) on the border wall until the've made enough to pay for their ride. When we do something illegal we don't get any free rides. We go to jail and pay a fine. In fact many states are actually charging inmates nightly rates to stay in jail. They want to be American, the first thing to learn is there aren't any free rides.

It will cost more to make them citizens then it will to find them and ship them back. The first year they are allowed to legally file taxes will kill us. Since they supposedly work the low paying jobs we American won't, they will pay almost zero taxes. Then if they have a child or two, they will now qualify for earned income credit and the child credits, and we will have to actually PAY them $2,000 to $3,000 more than they paid in taxes. Do the math. Take someone who makes say $15K a year and has 2 or 3 kids. They actually get paid at tax time.

Illegal immigrants should be denied ALL benefits and they should all be shipped out of the USA. Yes, it CAN be done! May take some time, but it can be done and it will cost billions of $ less in the long run.

I think illegal immigrants shall have the opportunity to become permanent residents as long as they dont have a criminal record and then after a waiting period of 10 years give them the opportunity to become naturalized and the opportunity to vote. Some of you might disagree with might answer, but Bush himself says it would cost to much money to find them and then to transport them all across the border. We must not forget that at one point in history even the original 13 colonies were Alien to this land that was full of American Natives which our ancestors killed by the thousands, for that we shall learn to tolerate the new comers, and if we really want to stop all alliens coming here then we need to militarized our borders, Amen oh mighty lord !!!

Since they are illegal, they shouldn't have any rights that US citizens have. However, they currently appear to have more now and get away with committing felonies. If a US citizen did anything fraudulent, they would be in jail or fined heavily. So, I think if the stay, they should be fined and jailed, just like a US citizen would for committing a felony.

As long as they remain Illegal, which means criminal, they should not and do not have any claim to any rights or priveleges of an American citizen, or a legal immigrant. Research the existing laws, read what is contained in those laws, educate yourself, The answers to your question have already been answered by American laws.

They should be denied everything until they follow the proper procedures to become U.S. citizens. Our country is a land of immigrants, who followed the legal process to enter the country, and were very pleased and proud once they got here and tried very hard to fit in and learn our version of English.

How about none.

If "they work really cheap" that means they're not going to owe any taxes, which means they are living at our expense.

It costs us more to provide welfare benefits to a huge underclass of workers than it would to pay legal workers or citizens a decent wage and allow the price of whatever "really cheap" goods they're producing to go up.

We pay for it either way. Right now we're giving them free health care and education so that sleazy businesses can maximize their profit margins and we can get a better deal on a head of lettuce. Oh, boy! That's cheap!
