Hm. Well, since I'm agnostic, I see what you're saying, but I think being an agnostic is...hm, how to say it? As an agnostic, I choose not to believe or disbelieve in a god/goddess/gods because I don't feel I have enough evidence to make that decision. Theists and atheists, however, seem to feel differently: based on their views of the world (often inspired by holy books) they apparently feel justified in believing or not believing in a god/goddess/gods.

Belief, of course, isn't based on scientific evidence, but believers and non-believers seem to consider other forms of evidence, like what makes sense to them, what they feel in their hearts is true or untrue, that sort of thing. A theist may not have SCIENTIFIC evidence for a god, but their knowledge, experience, gut, whatever, has led them to believe that there is a god/gods/goddess/whatever.

Don't know if I'm making sense...but that's the way it seems to me...

There is a difference between knowing God exists, and believing God exists. An agnostic doesn't believe God exists. So no, I am not an agnostic.

I don't think so, because the way that I interpret agnostics is that they have a belief in God, they just choose not to practice in any given house of organized religion.

No, we are not all agnostic. The worshipers of God know absolutely that God exists. Only the heathen and godless are agnostic.

That is a good question. But not everyone is agnostic. For us to know if God exists we only need to experience a small taste of God.

For instance if I wanted to prove to myself that there was oil in the Middle East all I will have to find is the smallest drop of black ooze.

But for those who want to keep disbelieving it. They will never truly know as humans do not know everything.

I hope I answered your question. I had my personal experiences with God. I at least cannot deny him.

Very obliged :)

Christians don't profess,we know. Christians know for a fact that there is a God. Agnostics are confused!

No. The Christians and the Muslims profess to know that there is a God. The Buddhists believe in a Buddha and a Nirvana. The Indians (or is it the Hindus?) believe in many Gods. And that's just a start.

The rest of us, well, we're fence-sitters. We don't go anywhere, ultimately.

People who believe in God (or some version of a higher being whatever its incarnation) are technically not agnostic.

I love how the Jesus-freaks get all defensive and upset when you even imply that there isn't a god...or even just that Jesus wasn't his son...insecure much?

Well, Jesus-lovers, you don't have facts, you have faith...I applaud your faith- it's inspiring. However, I'm secure enough to admit that there may or may not be a god, and Jesus may or may not have been his son-I don't know. I believe what I believe without persecuting others, but don't claim that you "know" anything...you have no facts, no proof, only your hearts and an inability to separate rational thought from belief...

No, agnostics are superior beings who can handle the fact that they will never know the truth.

BTW, I am not agnostic. I'm not praising myself.
