The Question is did he really die? At passover, Jews must be buried before sundown. His body was taken down in the dark of night and ....Possibly tended to because he was still alive? Supposedly, Pontious Pilate cut a deal with Jesus if he would leave Jerusalem and never return, he would spare his life. According to THE JESUS PAPERS by MICHAEL BAIGENT, it is possible that Jesus lived well on into his 40's and raised three children. There is tons of evidence through out the middle ages and before to suggest this is a possibility. The Pope was the political power in those days and did what his king told him to do. If the pope didn't oblige, then the king would just appoint another Pope who WOULD do what he wanted. It is MY belief that the Vatican has been hiding something that would change the world all these years. I have read many books on the subject including parts of the Bible which contradicts itself.. Many things have been added and removed from the testaments as most theologians will confirm. Yes I believe Jesus may be the messiah, but he was also a man. I don't believe in virgin birth, and the Adam and Eve thing. That's a story for teaching purposes. I'm sure I'll get heck for this opinion. One thing you can be sure of is GOD gave you free will so if what is in your heart is good you will be fine. In the Catholic school they taught us very young, "just ask and ye will be forgiven".

Here is the truth (as I see it). Let's play with the notion of the "godhead" and view it as levels of immersion: God, the divine personality is the vertical departure - fully separate and protected from the tragic impurities that have plagued humanity since "the fall." The Almighty's "Holy Spirit," is, by very definition, ubiquitous... it is that part of God which is pervasive and "horizontal." If Jesus is who he said He was, then He was (is) that which emanates from the Mouth /Mind of God... He is the perfect theophany... the intercessionary counselor of God. Jesus said, "I am the truth and the way..." He has been with God since the time of creation... that which proceeds from God... The Word of God. The Old Testament represented the Original Covenant... again, God's Word. To save the Gentiles, a new covenant needed to be made. God put His Holy Word (His Intercession) up on the cross to symbolically "destroy" the original Holy Word for re-santification of His New Word. Christ was the ultimate theophany on this Earth... Jesus' beauty is undeniable, The Word Incarnate... which makes the "sacrifice" all the more poignant. Most forget The Christ's actual role in this Passion Play... While Jesus the man suffered & died on the cross - under innumerable degredations & humiliations... the sacrifice was as much that of Jehovah... His Truth & Word brought to destruction, torment, and burial... only to rise from the great prosecutor's domain to be re-confirmed, having beat the death of human weakness.

All of the above.
Jesus Christ came & died so we have assurance that we have been made perfect in God's sight. No Question on if we've done all the "Right Things". The Right thing is acceptance of the gift of Christ's sacrifice.

since Adam was a perfect man, who sinned, in order for the sin to be cancelled out, it had to be a equal sacrifice. So Jesus was a perfect man he was the only one who could do this. And he also proved that humans could be faithful to God. Even when temped buy satan.

He didn't have too, he wanted to so that you and I could have an eternal life with the father in heaven and not be separated from him. Jesus did it out of love.

Jesus became flesh and had to die and ascend into heaven and become a spirit and live within each of us who have accepted him according to His purpose for us.

As one have said he did not have to die but because of his love he choose to. Let us not forget he wrestled with this decision:

Luk 22:41 And he withdrew from them about a stone's throw, and knelt down and prayed,
Luk 22:42 saying, "Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done."
