If not, do you have any other recommendations for a cut and a bump on the forehead of my toddler?

It will help.
Wash with soap and water, apply neosporin or some other antibiotic ointment, dress the wound.
Change dressing daily, reapplying the ointment until the wound is starting to skin over.

Neosporin is good as an effective healer. However, I usually use hydrogen peroxide for cuts to thoroughly clean any germs out of them. When I see that the injury has turned white, I certainly know that it has been cleaned. Then I put on Neosporin or some other healing product. I put a light bandage on it. If it is a major problem, then I seek my doctor's advice. Remember this, "If God be for us, who can be against us?" - Romans 8:31 Peace and God Bless.

That scar ointment really does work it is called Mederma, (for once you are healed no scab() Or just plain vitamin E oil applied two to three times per day )But yes neosporin is the very best you can use followed in at a close second by basotracin which is much cheaper

Agree with Tani.....neosporin is for bacteria in an inflammed open wound. You don't need it for just any old cut; it can make it worse. Clean with anti-bacertial soap and water. Pat it dry and apply something like vasaline or vit. e cream to the area. Neosporin does not help with scaring. Just keep massaging the area till it's healed. When the kid grows up, he'll have some character and it will be faded.

They do advertise that it will help lessen the appearance of scaring but i'm not sure how completely accurate that is. More importantly it can help reduce pain and prevent the cut from getting infected, so I would definitely recomend you use it. It may not completely reduce the risk of a scar forming but if later on scar does appear they have lotion type treatments (cocoa butter formulas, or anything listed under the heading for use on stretch marks) that you could use to help lessen the appearance.

it should help but keep it covered so the kid dose not pick at it. because they are so young more then likely they will not get a scar because they are still growing and developing that as long as it did not need stitches is will be fine no matter what is done

A product called Mederma works wonders in getting rid of scars and also preventing them. They also carry it in Mederma For Kids (I think).

It won't prevent scarring, but the faster healing time will minimize scarring. Keep the wound clean and loosely bandaged. Let the kid be a kid.
