You get a better exchange rate if you use a credit card while overseas. That way you will get the exact exchange rate and not have to pay any additional fees to the currency exchange place. Make sure you take a visa though and not a discover. I was in Italy with only a discover card, only one discover atm in Italy. Make sure you know your PIN# and have fun on your trip.

All commercial banks exchange currency at almost the same rate, and you can phone to obtain the rate. Also, some Western Union agents offer the exchange service and a considerably fine rate and are located in very convenient places (pharmacies, mall, etc.

I just went to Bank of America last to exchage my Euro to Dollar. They do take about $.04 per dollar though.
