My cat started sneezing last Sunday. (Friday) She is still sneezing but not as often. What do you think it could be? What should I do? (I'm low on funds so I cannot afford to see the vet if this will cure it's self.) Other than the sneezing she acts completely normal. She's playful, there's no coughing. She's indoor only. We have other cats but they are all indoor. This is the only cat that is sneezing (Everyone else is healthy). I've had this cat for 3 years and this is the first time she's done this. I don't know what to do. I cannot find much online about cat sneezing. Thanks for any responses.

So far her eyes are clear, she's eatting and drinking, she's playful...it's just the sneezing. We have ferrets so I wonder if it has something to do with them or their dander.
If she does have an upper respritory, do those go away naturally or does she have to have meds?

I think it's a tooth abscess.I read that it could be a tooth problem and when my hubby checked...there was a dark tooth. She's going to the vet tomorrow. Thanks for responding.

When mine did she had an upper respiratory infection. Does your cat have runny nose/eyes? Those are also indications of something like that going on. It could also have allergies. However you won't know unless you can take it to the vet. I waited a bit when mine started sneezing, but it didn't get better. It's not normal for them to sneeze lots, so a vet visit is probably what you'll need to do. Talk to your vet about payments if it turns into an expensive visit. (It shouldn't be, though) Hope this helps.

Animals could have hypersensitive reactions, no longer effective about the sneezing kind, more desirable like epidermis inflammation that i understand of. yet cats can get an higher respiration an infection too so i'd look at go-verify that. consistent sneezing can aspect out a heart problem too.

My cat has felive herpes virus. He contracted it as a kitten at the shelter. One common sympton is sneezing when he has become stressed. If you have had him for 3 years, the only way he would have this is if he was exposed to another potentially affected cat recently. If this is the case, it will resolve itself over time. If there are no new cats in the vicinity, it is most lilkely a common cold, especially if the cat is eating normally. Keep a watch out for reduced appetite, lethargy, greenish mucus draining from the nose and fever (yes, you may have to stick a thermometer in his butt...sorry - and normal cat temperature is 102 F). If he develops these symptoms, it has progressed to a bacterial upper respiratory infection and you will need to see the vet for oral antibiotics. Good luck!

Cats can get colds sort of like humans. Watch her for a week to 10 days, if she doesn't get better or if she gets worse then go to the vet.
Things to watch for: Discharge, green or yellow means infection and you will need antibotics. Any change in eating and drinking. If she seems to be in pain. If she suddenly stops using the litter box or using it more often. Good luck

I've had a ten year old female that has been doing this for a couple of years. She's been om meds for respitority infection but they make her sick and when I call the vet he just takes her off. I don't take her back. My guess is allergies, because if she were sick she should have died by now.

It could be allergies. My bro's cat started to sneeze as you describe it out of the blue one day and continued on. His other cat's didn't sneeze one bit.
