In the Army, there are 2 options. The 1st is to be a college-op, have a degree, attend basic training & OCS (officier canidate school) , after passing you become a 2nd LT. This was my son's way. If you do not pass OCS or get hurt & can't recycle you are a specialist & not an officier for at least 4 yrs when tour is up.
The 2nd is to join the army work hard & apply for OCS. You must finish your degree by the time you are out of OCS. You can take classes while in miliary. It can take years to get in, making it hard to pass the physical part of OCS. Age does not help. But in my son's class there were 30-35 sgts. Still becomes 2nd Lt.

I pretty sure you can't be an officer in the Marines AND US Army, at least not at the same time. Or did I misunderstand your question?

the United States Naval Academy and the United States Military Academy...you have to write your senators or congressman and request an appointment..it's not easy..very competitive. or you can attend college and enroll n army ROTC or NROTC and get your college paid for by the army or the navy...After completing NROTC you would request to go Marine Corp. or you can just attend college on your own..complete a degree program, see a recruiter...apply to enlist as an officer, take some tests..go to boot camp then go to Quantico for OCS.

A prerequisite is to get a college degree. Most colleges have ROTC on campus. ROTC stands for Reserve Officer Training Corps.
