Although Westie's are known to have dry skin, our Westie seems to be the opposite. Just wondered if anyone else has that problem?

Food is not the problem....feeding Innova Evo. We bath her at least once a week. I realize it recommends to not bathe Westie's very often but I hate the smell of "dog" in our small house.

Being "greasy" may be a skin condition called seborrhea. Seborrhea also makes them stinky. Contact your vet for a shampoo specifically made for this. I have seen this quite a bit in Westies, as it is common for them to have allergies, and often allergies and seborrhea go hand in hand.

I work at a kennel/grooming shop and we specialize in westies and other terriers. When a dog comes in very greasy we will wash it in palmolive dish soap. Believe it or not it does the trick!!

It may be the food you are feeding him. Go to naturapetproducts.com, and read everything you ever wanted to know about dog nutrition.
Also, you do wash him right?
