If i wanted to be something special when i grow up, and i prayed to god for him to help my dreams to come true, will it, even though god knows how much i want it and how much i need it?

Why wait to be special when you grow up when you could be special now? In fact, you already are. If you would like others to know that too do some volunteer work. You will help people who really need help, learn new skills, make new friends, and get a chance to show off your stuff. Good luck.

First of all, let me suggest that you pray for God's will. Pray that you might always follow Him and that your "something special" might be in accord with His will and that He might give you the grace to achieve it. Always give thanks to God in all that you do and all that you achieve doing your "special thing" let it be for the glory of God. Before you work on your "special thing" pray that it might give God glory.

Now let me say that as you are growing up, work towards your "special thing". Don't sit back and expect God to be a wishing well. He created you and gave you talents to use in His service. He loves you and has prepared your life in a special and unique way, even if you do not get to do your "special thing". Remember, God gave you a brain and a body to achieve many a thing. If you always follow after Him, and put your rest in Him, your life will be special and at peace, no mater what trials and joys happen to you on your journey.

Personally, I don't believe in praying to God to ask for things, because to me it implies that you, the prayer, know better than God Himself what's best for His Creation.

If you believe in God (personally I'm agnostic), then He probably has a plan for you in His creation. It may be to be something special when you grow up, it may be to be a nondescript middle-class person, it may be to be hit by a car in a month and have your organs donated to a DIFFERENT person who may in turn go on to be someone special, who is enabled to do so by your death...nobody has the Big Picture like God does; therefor it seems to me to be rather selfish and presumptuous to ask for things that you think will make you happy, or that you think will make the world a better place, or whatever. If God is out there, it's His universe; just pray that He will help you to understand and accept whatever role he has planned for you...

Gosh, I'm starting to sound like a theist...

Have faith in God. He will call you to the vocation that is meant for you and will bring the most joy and love to the world. Perhaps this dream you have is the vocation God has set on your heart.

Hold it close and pray about it often. It will become clearer and God unfolds your path.

And remember one very important thing. We are all called by God to be extraordinary people. We all are meant to do amazing things in this world. You will be special if you follow God at all costs. Remember that your own plans will not measure up to God's divine plan for you. Trust in Him, always.

Sure God will help you, even open doors for you that you thought closed forever to you, if your dreams are part of His will for your life. I know, sort of a let down ... you are thinking 'but what if it's not His will?'

Whether you realize it or not, that's the good news! If His plans are different for you, then what He has in store is endlessly better than any petty dream you had.

For no man knoweth the good things God has in store for him.

You can pray 24/7 for the next 500 years and nothing's going to happen because prayer doesn't work and god doesn't exist.

You can pray and pray but there is a path that is there for you. It might not or maybe what you are asking for right now. You will never now until the future comes and you look back and realize that it was meant to be.

You are special, but don't expect that God will resolve your problems or guide you in the journey of life. Trust yourself and make your dreams come true.

You'll need to start working hard right from now if you want to be somebody special in future. You'll also need to trust in God by getting very close to Him for help to become great 'cos He is the only one who can make you so in life.
