My daughter lost her CDIB, and needs to complete her family tree so she can get it replaced. Problem is, she has never met any of them. We know the names, but research site are too expensive. Any advise? Looking for Bonaparte's in Oklahoma and Texas.

The tribe told her that she had to dig up birth and/or death records for ancestors like 3 generations back. Her father is deceased and he was adopted by his grandmother & step Grandfather. She's a tribal member, but she can't get her card 'til she does the work.

You have red skin? Wow. Must be from mars then. or something. Because no indians I know have a red tint to their skin. So what's your problem? You aren't native american, because that term legally refers to a tribal citizen, which you aren't. And you aren't choctaw, because you aren't a tribal citizen. So.... are you asking about possible choctaw ancestry? That's something you have to do the genealogy work yourself. Are your ancestors from the Mississippi choctaw or the oklahoma choctaw? edit****Your question continues to be unintelligible gibberish. I asked which choctaw tribe your ancestors were supposed to be from, to narrow the search, and now you say creole? The Creole aren't native american. They are a mixed-race group with some french/spanish (and some african) ancestry. If you don't know the basic facts of your ancestry, how in the world are we supposed to help you?

I think the Choctaw's website is www.choctawnation.org. I have already supplied the snail mail addy and other info on a previous question. Do a search and you'll have the answer. These people at the main office are pretty nice and might be able to help you, especially being as she already had a number.

Her CDIB should be on file with the Choctaw Nation. Try contacting them to retrieve a new one (if she already has one). You can locate geneology at a local Historical Society usually for free.
