Before you answer, here is a link that has all of the cruelty and violence of the bible, from cannabalism, infanticide, rape, you name it.

http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com/cruelty/long.html

I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any literary works that possibly has more.

1. I love the website linked! It has every verse in the King James Bible listed directly and exactly as it is and reveals it for what it is.

BibleGod killed babies, commited mass genocide and more and is all clearly there!

2. The answer is no. There is some literature that is equally cruel and violent, but not anywhere close to having the vast amount of it as the bible does.

BTW, I found a link to this great video clip on that site!

Though the Bible has some of the original word of God revealed to Mosses and Jesus, the majority of it has been written by humans. It has been written to suit the time and to attract unbelievers. It also accommodated a great deal of pagan believes that can still be seen in many of the Christian rituals. Christians love throwing stones and accusations against Islam, when Islam is the worlds most civilized and fair and just religions. Islam has not been corrupted by humans as the bible was. So NO there isn't any religion on the face of earth that is more wicked and cruel than Christianity. Not the same religion that God revealed to Jesus, but the made up religion that was invented by man to suit their un-Godly life.
Learn more about Islam, and the straight path to God, visit a Mosque and ask the hard hitting questions about God, why we are here, what is the meaning of life. You will always get your answers if you avoided the filth that we are bombarded with daily online and on the other media.

How is the Bible meant to teach what is wrong and what is right without providing the what is wrong stuff? And are we to remain ignorant of the injustice our sin creates? The punishment we bring upon ourselves?

That's like saying your 9th grade (are you there yet?) social studies textbook is a gruesome story because talks about wars and genocides.

And come on dude. You really think that the skepticsannotatedbible.com stands up to 2000 years of explainations of why the Bible is God's word.

The sad thing is people like you think that you are cutting edge in being skeptical. You think that these contradictions and proofs against Christianity will finally do its work. You are very short-sighted.

Is there any question more loaded and inflammatory?
Really now, why not read about the Ethnic cleansing in Bosnia?, the concentration camps of Germany?, the ethnic war in Rwanda?
Or maybe pick up a newspaper.
Or even better, why not read the Bible, find the ratio of records that are 'violent', to the records that aren't.

Is the fall of man evident to you? The whole world fell into ruin and the earth has been cleansed, but man still remains. Is not the human soul the most grottiest thing you have ever witnessed. The bible is the witness and the truth hurts. God Bless

I think you're reading the wrong stuff and winding up ignorantly believing that the Holy Bible is a violent book. Keep off the skeptics and read the Bible by faith and your life will be richly blessed.

I can't think of anything more horrible that the Old Testament.

I concluded a long time ago that the ancient hebrew war god has absolutely nothing to do with Jesus and that Jesus was not the son of that diety.

The Bible claims that God is the "same yesterday, today, and forever."

Jesus said that, "I and the father are one," and "If you know me, you know the father."

If all three of those scriptures are correct, then the angry, vengeful, and murderous god of the old testament could not be Jesus' father.

That is because you are reading it through nonspiritual eyes. Get saved, then ask God from understanding and I promise the Bible will become the most beautiful Book you have ever or will ever read

BTW?

i ask you, did God come down from the heavens or send angels to kill and commit these acts, no it was satan and the people of those days.

It was the people of this world

the writer is twisting the words to make it to his liking through satan

And if you belive in this then you should belive in God and his love, he still loves you after all this fuss you put him through and will accept you. This is the part you are missing

This place is just hoarded with prejudice, discriminate, ignorant, treacherous, cruel, and obscene remarks...

and do you know something? Probably not even 1/4 of it is true!

(Unlike the Bible!)

Stop picking on Christianity...(oh, and thanks for giving me 2 extra points! :) )
